Biography:
Bill Palmer was born in 1937. He attended secondary school at St Edward’s School, Oxford. Bill obtained his Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Physics and Mathematics at the University of Exeter in 1959 and his Teacher’s Certificate in 1960. He obtained his first Master’s degree from the University of East Anglia in 1970 and a second Master’s degree from the University of Oxford in 1981. He obtained his PhD in 2003 from Curtin University, Australia. Bill has worked in Britain, Nigeria, Papua New Guinea, Western Samoa and Australia but always in science education. He was a senior lecturer in science education in the Faculty of Education, Health and Science at Charles Darwin University from 1989 until February 2007 when he retired after nearly fifty years of service to education. He has an honorary position as Associate with SMEC at Curtin University.
