Biography:

Dr Jason Prior is a Research Director of the Institute for Sustainable Futures at the University of Technology Sydney. Over the past four years Jason has carried out a series of projects exploring risk communication within the Australian remediation context, funded by the Cooperative Research Centre for Contamination Assessment and Remediation of the Environment (CRC CARE). The research has been developed in close consultation with industry partners and environmental regulators, as affected members of the public. The focus of this research is public understanding and engagement with science and technology, communication within decision-making contexts (especially in the area of public input into policy and decision-making), and the role of communication in the professional practice of sciences and technology. These CRC CARE projects are part of Jason’s broader research on improved decision-making, governance and planning for institutional, urban and regional futures. Jason is participating at this conference with support from CRC CARE.
