This paper explores Café Scientifique as a model for science engagement in the community. A case study review of Queensland’s Inspiring Australia Cafes is offered to determine the value of a state-wide coordinated approach to the branding, marketing and promotion of science talks in comparison with an ad-hoc approach. Grey literature and research from community engagement, marketing, promotion and community development disciplines informs the study.
